| Samsung Honda | Honda 1000 CBR | ?/? | Honda PBM | Kawasaki ZX10R | Shane Byrne ?/Stuart Easton ?/keith Farmer ? | Yamaha Swan | yamaha R1 | Tommy Hill ? | MV Agusta | MV F4 RR | ?/? | Tyco Suzuki | Suzuki GSXR 1000 | Joshua Brookes/PJ Jacobsen? |

Triple British Superbike champion Shane 'Shakey' Byrne and double National Superstock champion Keith Farmer will contest the 2013 MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship for Rapid Solicitors Kawasaki.
35-year-old Londoner Byrne will defend the title he won this season to add to his 2003 and 2008 successes and he will be joined in the Penrith-based Paul Bird Motorsport team by 24-year-old Ulsterman Keith Farmer who was also victorious in 2012 when he added the Metzeler National Superstock 1000 title to that of his 600 success the year previous.
Both riders will contest the 12 round series on the successful Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10Rs which saw Byrne claim eight victories en route to the title with backing once again from Humberside based Rapid Solicitors.
It will be the first time that Byrne, who now lives on the Isle of Sheppey, will defend his UK number one plate as on the previous two occasions, he has moved onto MotoGP and World Superbikes respectively.
As for Farmer, the 'Clogher Bullet' from County Tyrone had a one-off ride on the injured Stuart Easton's machine at Oulton Park in mid-season where he impressed during qualifying before claiming a top twenty result on his first ever outing on a Superbike.
In addition to the Rapid Solicitors Kawasaki team in BSB, PBM UK will once again be contesting the MotoGP World Championship where they will be running a two-man team with one rider aboard the CRT-specification Aprilia ART machine and the second rider aboard a PBM machine, details of which will be announced shortly, as well as a testing programme.
The PBM team returned to BSB this year after three successful years in World Superbikes and the two titles they won added to the 1999 250cc British Championship of John McGuinness and the 2002 successes of Steve Hislop in BSB and Stuart Easton in British Supersport. The team also assisted Farmer to his 2011 National Superstock 600 title to take their tally to six domestic titles to add to their considerable successes at the Isle of Man TT, North West 200, Macau Grand Prix and Daytona.
Byrne needs only two more victories to equal Ryuichi Kiyonari's record of 43 career wins and a fourth BSB title would better the three achieved by both Kiyonari and Niall Mackenzie.
Shane Byrne: "I was in the enviable position of being offered a ride in either MotoGP or BSB by Paul Bird and after some careful consideration; I thought that the option of staying with my championship winning team on a great bike in BSB was too strong a temptation to resist. We are within sight of some records and so for the first time ever in my career, I am riding for the same team again but it wasn't really a difficult decision to make. We are going into 2013 even stronger and with a few improvements to the bike as well as me training harder than ever, I'm hoping I can defend the title but it won't be easy. The one remaining decision I have to make is whether I run with my traditional number 67 or I use the number one plate, you'll have to wait and see!"
Keith Farmer: "I don't know how to put into words how happy I am to be riding for the Paul Bird Motorsport Rapid Solicitors Kawasaki Team on a Superbike next year. I thought last year was a big year for me but it keeps getting bigger and better. I am also very pleased that Shakey is my team mate as he helped me a lot this year. I can't thank Paul and the rest of the team enough, he said from the end of last season that he would look after me and yet again he has stuck to his word and put me on Superbike. All I can do to show him my appreciation is to get up front with the reigning British Superbike Champion Shakey, as that's how we roll!"
Paul Bird: "I'm delighted that we are back in BSB and that Shakey and Keith will be riding for us. We came back to Britain for one thing only and that was for us to win the title and now we aim to defend it as we've never had a rider do that. Shakey proved he was the dominant force last season and there's no reason why he can't do it again. Keith is a very talented rider who we aim to develop in forthcoming seasons and it's great that him and Shakey get on really well as he can learn a lot. We are also committed to MotoGP and will be making an important announcement soon on our plans in that series and rest assured, I'll be even more focused on both my teams' successes than ever before." |

Tyco Suzuki have completed their 2013 British Superbike line-up, having today signed 19-year-old American PJ Jacobsen to join Australian Josh Brookes in next year’s championship. The New Yorker rode to success at Donington and Assen on the team’s GSX-R1000 and 600cc machinery during ad hoc appearances this season, and with further podiums at Silverstone and the Brands Hatch finale in the Superstock class – the former American National Dirt Track champion was a big favourite amongst fans, sponsors and Tyco Suzuki personnel. His transition to the British Superbike Championship – regarded as the world’s toughest domestic national tarmac series – is the next step in his fast moving career, with Jacobsen and his New York Mets’ cheerleader girlfriend Danielle, now looking forward to setting up home in Northern Ireland prior to next season’s BSB season which commences in April. Jacobsen said: “It’s great to finally sign the deal to ride for Tyco Suzuki and I’d like to thank team boss Philip Neill and Phil Dashey from Tyco for their support. The team stood by me this season and gave me an opportunity in British Superstock and Supersport and put my career on the map. I just can’t wait to get out there now and test the Superbike, and I know my experienced Australian team-mate Josh Brookes will help me a lot. I like his determination and attitude to racing and already knowing the Tyco Suzuki guys is also a big help.” Team Manager Philip Neill added: “After agreeing terms with Josh during September it feels like it has taken a long time to finalise our British Superbike line-up. However now that it’s done I am really looking forward to next season with a very exciting line up. PJ has been groomed as a motorcycle racer from a very young age and his unique all American style, of enjoying a bike sliding underneath him, will be a major factor in his future success in the Superbike category.
“As we have done with many of our riders, we will now start to put everything in place to create the correct environment for both PJ and his girlfriend Danielle, so they can be as comfortable as possible during their stay with us in Northern Ireland for 2013.
“With time spent riding our GSX-R1000 Superstock bike this year, we have secured some valuable information, so our technicians have already started fitting PJ around a GSX-R1000 Superbike, ready for his first test opportunity early next year. This really is the overall package we wanted, with Josh being a proven championship contender with years’ of experience and PJ being the young up and coming star. I have no doubt that the support of the Tyco Suzuki team and indeed Josh Brookes will be a significant factor in the eventual rise to the very top for this young man.”

[Vous devez être inscrit et connecté pour voir cette image]Tyco Suzuki Team News Tyco Suzuki is pleased to announce their return to the British Supersport Championship for the 2013 campaign by welcoming exciting young Scottish rider Taylor Mackenzie into the team. His father Niall – a three time British Superbike champion – was also part of the Suzuki ‘family’ during his illustrious 500cc Grand Prix career. 19-year-old Taylor stepped up from two-stroke racing to the cut and thrust British Supersport series just this year, ironically scoring his first points at Knockhill in Scotland, and from there he set new goals with every ride. His finest hour was at the season finale at Brands Hatch taking a respectable sixth place and is now looking forward to teaming up with TAS Racing, who are double British Supersport champions. Taylor Mackenzie: “I’m really excited to be joining Tyco Suzuki in British Supersport and I can’t wait to get started. At the end of the season nothing was really happening but once I’d spoken to Tyco Suzuki and knew there was a deal on the table to ride their championship winning GSX-R600 package, I was so happy. They have a lot of experience in the Supersport class and this deal has really given me so much motivation for next season. Last year I wasn’t sure what to expect in British Supersport but now that I’ve a year under my belt, my aim is to keep moving forward and hopefully be on the podium as soon as possible.” Philip Neill – Team Manager: “It’s an exciting proposition for us going back into the British Supersport class. It’s an important part of the BSB championship and we’ve already proven how competitive the GSX-R600 package is with our championship success in 2011, and also taking a win this season in our only race in the class at Assen. “It’s refreshing to bring in an enthusiastic and talented young rider like Taylor, which will help us start the development process all over again – a bit like we did with Tom Sykes, and as we all know, his career has gone from strength to strength. The Mackenzie family are well respected in the paddock and also within Suzuki, and I know I speak on behalf of Suzuki GB when I say we are delighted to have them back in the fold. Niall’s influence will continue to be vital for Taylor but at Tyco Suzuki we will build our 2011 championship winning team around him to give him the best chance possible during the season.” Taylor Mackenzie Profile DOB: 24/02/1993 Born: Stirling, Scotland Lives: Ashby, England Height: 173cm Weight: 58kg Nationality: Scottish Nickname: T-Mack Favourite Circuits: Jerez, Oulton Park Favourite Food: Italian Hobbies: Motorbikes, Cycling, Designing Cars and bikes: Vauxhall Corsa & GSX-R600 race bike Movies and Music: Hangover 1 and 2, The Prodigy 2013 race season target: To get on that podium and spray some champagne |

| Peter Hickman chez GB moto Honda [Vous devez être inscrit et connecté pour voir cette image]Fan favourite Peter Hickman has signed a deal to race for the GBmoto Honda team in next year's British Superbike series. The Lincolnshire rider will race alongside an as-yet-unnamed team-mate in the championship and is looking forward to season on the Honda Fireblades prepared by John Trigger. “Getting a competitive ride, that will see me able to challenge for podium places as well as the end-of-season Showdown, was vitally important going into 2013. And GBmoto are a team that I definitely feel are able to offer me that opportunity,” said Hickman. “The bikes are the equal of anything on the grid, and the team that I’ll be working with are an amazing bunch of individuals that are all proven experts in their field. I can’t wait to start testing.” |
