- hello Ian , i'm having problem with carbon reeds ( cr250 ), , Vf3 and stock cages with 4 or 6 windows in KitA 125 honda engine ( not production cases )
have you any special reeds to get high rpm for me or any tip welcome as they are to light on tension to work correctly ...
thanks
Seb Hi Seb Concerning my "light" experience on carbon reeds on TZ125 1994 engine so a six windows box and also 125 RM engine 2003 with stock 4windows i can tell you that my aim is always to have at full open valve on stoppers or on crankcase a load at 225gr. Each time i try lower lower i broke valves( for sure at 175gr!). For it i use carbone fiber and i shape it by myself, the thickness i use is 0.4 or 0.45mm, i also orientate the fiber at 45° and the external cutting is not as common reeds. Using this method alow to decrease stiffness without being oblige to use very thin carbon reeds. For 250 MX engines RM and CR i don't remeber yet the load value i used but for sure stiffer than for 125 , i could try ty look at my very old notes about it if you are interested, which are certainy somewhere in my workshope!!!! With this vaue at 225gr the TZ engine with Titanium crankshaft was able to overrev at 14800trs Pierre |
