Hi everyone.My name is Javier,from Jerez.
I am a crane truck driver.
We are fixing a Yamaha RD 125 YPVS 1986 for racing and we have a very brave pilot.The motorcycle we have as a rival is the Aprilia RS 125,they are a plague.
We want to make a decent bike to have fun against them.
We are copying the RS distribution in the RD cylinder.194/126°,triple exhaust port,boost intake,six petal reed cage,YZ 125 1985 pistón,until now.The engine is not closed yet.
We need your opinion and your advice,please.
We assume that we may have been wrong about something,and that here are the geniuses of 2T.
But,"who does cry,does not suck".

It’s gona very very difficult to fight against the time!
The Rotax (122 or 123) is much younger in his conception and you will have to spend a lot of money to beat them.
For the frame, it’s the same: FPAYART had mounted one of his FPE superkart engine in an Aprilia 125RS frame and Was faster than many TZ and RS 250!!!
So that Aprilia frame is really good and strong!

About the transfer timing, as far as I could read what Frits Overmars recommends, you can use 130°.

I have an Aprilia futura 125 SP,some saturdays i go running whith it,a wonderful machine,i recognize it.I have also raced with the RD 125,it is a different bike,it may even have something to envy,but when it comes to running with the old bikes,we talk about balls.Maybe the problem is when you try the ham,you no lo nger want mortadella,and you are not able to run on a classic bike.Maybe.Piculi,my rider,has raced with RD 350,250 and Bultaco 250 ,frame???,and he does not distinguish a Kobas frame from a low boy.I have to offer him something safe,decent and fast.It is not allowed to change engine or frame.
Fighting time is impossible,dear friends,facing a modern with an old motorcycle and brave rider,is a challenge for me,that motivates and encourages me a lot.
But i am not a wizard.
