About 4 years ago I decided to go after a set of casting moulds that I located in the former GDR.
Because I thought it might be interesting to make my own cilinders.
The former mechanic of the team that used the moulds contacted me about them.
He knew how to work with them and thought it to be a nice hobby too.
So he got some sand ,repaired the mould and we casted cilinders.

The cilinder worked ,and it wasn't even slow.
But we decided we want better porting in it.
So I did some of work with rubber and plaster chalk and we got to a new design which could match the Malossi ,Bidalot and such cilinderkits.

The old Van Veen Kreidler form looks nice classic ,but its a bit big ,heavy and has a pretty stupid waterflow path.
So we wanted to make our own new moulds ,and decided to have the outside look as Jan Thiels own Jamathi cilinder.
The round shape is very smart ,its easier to make and to machine.

But the new goal also is to beat all the competition factorymade cilinders.
And to do that you must look for advantages ,so a lot of thinking ,talking and planning followed.

The cilinder we came up with has a very smart water circulation system.
It enters under the exhaust end then hast to travel through a ringshaped gallery in the head to get to the front of the combustionchamber and forced over it before leaving the cilinder.
In the future will improve things a bit more by adding a coolingfin on the sparkplug shaft.
The pictures you see here are made of the first of the new cilinders.
To go sure we made both exhaust port types.
We will sort out which is best.
Many tuners say it has to be the one with 2 auxiliary ports ,but olders tests showed the bridged port striking back with easy adjustment and better midrange power.
Future will learn us more...
