So this has been bugging me for a while....
I see head gaskets with restriction holes but the topics not often discussed. I often see engines converted to o rings which eliminates the restrictions...
So what's going on, some promote the restrictions are to keep temperatures in the cylinder under control...but what's important...
To concentrate on exhaust port cooling?
To keep inlet tracts cool?
To maintain cylinder geometry (but piston already compensates for this to a degree)
Should an o ring conversion aim to replicate the OEM restrictions on a competition engine?
Appreciate any thoughts.and experience..
