[BSB] Championnat 2012

la saison 2012 a déjà commencé, Le Team Paul Bird avait annoncé son retour en BSB ,et il y à quelques jours les 2 pilotes ont été dévoilés, si on savait que Stuart Easton était l'un de ces pilotes , on ne connaissait pas son coéquipier , c'est donc Shayne Byrne qui roulera à ses cotés , si ce n'est pas une Dream Team , en tous cas on en est pas loin. c'est durant le " Motorcyle live" qui se déroule actuellement au NEC de Birmingham , que les couleurs 2012 ont été dévoilés , ainsi que la venue d'un nouveau sponsor : Rapid Solicitors , celui la même qui faisait rouler les Ducati de Rutter et Jessop cette année. On devrait également retrouvé ce sponsor sur la CRT de James Ellison.

Un autre team a dévoilé ses pilotes , il s'agit du team WFR, celui la meme qui a remporté la Catégorie EVO cette année avec Glen Richards. Pour 2012, 3 machines seront alignés avec :

Graeme Gowland (A gauche), James Westmoreland(au milieu), et Alex Lowes ( A droite)

Graeme Gowland
“Obviously it’s really good to be back with the team that I was so successful with last year.

“We have already done some testing out in Spain with the new spec engine and some new parts which went really well. I was setting some good times so hopefully I can pick up right where I left off last year and win some races in British Superbikes.”

Alex Lowes :
“It’s great to back with WFR, the team that I was most successful with last year.

“I spoke to the team owners about everything and it’s all water under the bridge and I think we understand each other a lot better now as a result.

“My year didn’t go so brilliantly after leaving WFR, it was my first year on a superbike and changing teams a lot didn’t really help but hopefully with a good test under my belt we can hit the ground running from the first race and put a consistent run together.

“The aim is to win the championship and with the setup and support we have there’s no reason why we can’t.”

James Westmoreland
“In the three rounds that I did with the team last year I felt really comfortable with the team and people I was working with so I’m glad the job I did then has helped us move into the new year and that I am going to be a part of that.

“It’s important to have a good teammate to test yourself against and I’ve got two in Graeme and Alex so hopefully we can all push each other along.

“Obviously everyone is on a level playing field next year so we have as good a chance as anyone else to win the championship and that’s the aim.”







Le team Tas Racing n'a pas encore dévoilé ses pilotes , mais à déjà fait savoir qu'il y aurait 2 Suzuki en SBK pour 2012 :


Philip Neill(Team manager):
"I am very pleased to confirm that we will continue our relationship with Suzuki for 2012 in BSB. It is currently the leading domestic championship throughout the world in our opinion and with this in mind, the championship delivers the perfect platform for our sponsors to promote their products. As the official team representing Suzuki GB we will run two riders in the restructured Superbike class and may even continue our participation in Supersport or possibly the Superstock class. Having secured our second British championship title in 2011, after eight consecutive years competing in the championship, 2012 is the year when we finally feel ready to challenge for the Superbike title. The newly introduced technical regulations will obviously narrow the gap between all the competing teams, which may throw up a few surprises. With everything considered we are actually more confident than ever, in terms of how the 2012 TAS Racing GSX-R1000 will stack up against our competitors. Taking into consideration our road racing machines currently run under a similar state of tune to what will be introduced for BSB in 2012, we certainly have the experience to hit the ground running when the series kicks off. Our rider line-up is yet to be announced. However we are confident of having two riders who will be capable of achieving the results we ultimately desire. We also have a few surprises in terms of our sponsorship line-up, which could see our bikes take on a new look for 2012. That again will be announced in the coming weeks."

Philip Neill – Team Manager

“It’s obviously great to have a new title partner in place but even better to have a group of people as enthusiastic as the guys from Tyco. We’ve known each other for a while now and when the opportunity arose, it was very easy for both parties to reach a decision.

“At TAS Racing nothing changes: we are the same team that has operated in the BSB paddock since 2004, albeit now under the Tyco Suzuki banner. The icing on the cake for us is being able to return to our favoured blue and white colour scheme – a livery we have used since our first association with Suzuki many years ago.”

Josh Brookes

“I thought I was heading home for the Australian summer for four months but I’m delighted to be back in the UK for a few days to re-sign for TAS Racing. I love the new look of the bike in Tyco Suzuki colours and there’s no better place to get the whole season going again than the NEC bike show.

“It took us a while to get things to click this season, but when it did we proved how good a package we are together, so I’m looking forward to taking that to the next level in 2012. I really enjoy working with the boys at TAS and I love the Northern Ireland lifestyle – so at least there will be no surprises when I return to start the season. The goal as always is to win the championship and I really believe we can hit the ground running and do the business from round one in April. I’m looking forward to it.”


Aucune annonce concernant le coéquipier de Brookes a été faite , meme si on peux supposer que Alastair Seeley , champion BSS 2011 avec le team TAS, semble celui qui fait figure de favori , Affaire à suivre !!


Le calendrier 2012 a lui aussi été dévoilé , et comme certaines rumeurs le laissaient supposer , le championnat Britannique va rejoindre le continent pour faire une escale à Assen !

Le British Superbike prévoit de nouveau pour l'an prochain un programme très intéressant pour les 1000 dont l'électronique sera désormais limitée par un boîtier unique. La grande nouveauté 2012 est la sortie du territoire britannique pour se rendre sur le circuit d'Assen, un des favoris sur le continent des spectateurs anglais.

Il est clair qu'en sortant de son territoire, le BSB provoque en duel le mondial Superbike. Jonathan Palmer, le Chief Executive de MotorSport Vision, l'entreprise qui organise le BSB, semble vouloir profiter des erreurs consécutives d'Infront Motor Sports, comme l'incapacité de gérer la limitation de l'électronique, la diffusion télé jugée limitée par les concurrents, l'absence de la Ducati 1199 Panigale en Superbike en 2012 (contrairement au BSB), le prix très élevé des engagements et des pneus, etc. Contrairement au mondial, le BSB annonce clairement qu'il est capable de "limiter les coûts tout en augmentant la qualité du spectacle."

Le premier round de cet intéressant duel aura lieu à Assen, le mondial SBK s'y produisant le 22 avril et le BSB le 23 septembre.

Un de nos représentant français est à la recherche d'un guidon pour le BSB la saison prochaine.

Du coté du Team Swan Yamaha, Tommy Hill devrait rester et Alastair Seeley pourrait etre son coéquipier. Ce qui laisserait un guidon interessant sur la suzuki du team Tas racing.

Gary Mason , l'un des "heros" de I superbiker , qui pilotait une kawasaki dans le team MSS cette saison et Simon Andrews , victime malheureux d'un gros crash à Snetterton pour cette meme équipe , (et qui l'avait éloigné des pistes pour la fin de saison) , rouleront la saison prochaine pour le compte du Team PR Racing sur des kawasaki.


Simon Andrews :

"Even last year I was already looking ahead to next season and that is why I rode in the Evo class as we were forward thinking to 2012. I got on well with the team this year and there is a great atmosphere in the garage and we have a methodical way of working so I am happy to be with the team again next season. It is also good for me to have Gary joining us next season as we can work together with our different experiences to move forward and hopefully hit the ground running from the first round. I really feel that PR Racing really is an upcoming team in the BSB paddock and the fight we have and the team spirit can continue from this season.
We started last season having not tested the bike and we had a good first half of the season before the crash; if it hadn't been for that I think we could have been there and fought for the Evo title, but that just shows how cruel this sport can be at times. I still have the cage on my leg at the moment, but it should be coming off before Christmas and I feel there is a light at the end of the tunnel now. It won't be long then before I can start testing with the team ready for the start of the season."


Gary Mason :

"I really can't wait until next season and I am happy as we have every chance of winning and achieving podiums with the new rules for next year. I was always really keen to stay with Kawasaki, although I had other options, as we started working last year on the development and I wanted to continue that as I feel that the bike has real potential. As a team, PR Racing really are passionate about what they do and that is so important; a happy team generally equals a fast team.
We have a lot to prove and we definitely want to leave some of the competition with red faces next year that's for sure. I know where we need to work on already with the bike having ridden a 2012 specification Kawasaki last year so we already have a bit of a head start in terms of knowing what we need to focus on straight away. The team have already begun work on the bike so we can get the best out of it from the start of the year; we know the Kawasaki will be strong we just need to ensure we have smooth power delivery."
The new season and the new rules is what racing is all about and I can't wait to start work with the PR Racing team on the Kawasaki. For me it is also going to be great having Si as a team-mate again as I get on well with him and it will be great to have him back again after his horrible injury from this season. We will push each other all the way and now I am just continuing my training and getting ready so we can start testing soon."

L'inusable Stalker sera de nouveau présent sur la grille du BSB en 2012, il vient d'être confirmé aux côtés de James Hillier sur une kawasaki du team Pr1mo Bournemouth.

Chris Walker :
"It has been exciting that the team has come together and we have been accepted to be part of BSB next season with the new rules and the Elite team status. For Danny and Pete to join forces is great as they have some big plans and it is fantastic to be able to be back on the BSB grid next year. For me it is brilliant to be with the same team for a second consecutive season as we know what we need to build on and how we can make improvements. I am familiar with the team and the Kawasaki and the new rules I think will suit riders like me who have raced Superbikes for over a decade; hopefully that experience will close the gap. I was desperate to be back in BSB next season and we want to be pushing for the top six in the Showdown as that is my ambition for the year ahead. We had some top five finishes last year and we will be more prepared next season so hopefully we can achieve that goal. The team and the machine have the potential and I can't wait to get started now."

James Hillier:
"I am really looking forward to next season and working alongside Chris as a two man team. Last season was my first full year and as a one rider team it does make it more difficult, whereas in 2012 we will be able to work together and I can learn from him and his experience. Everyone knows it is hard racing in BSB but everyone in the team will be determined and giving one hundred percent. We have some data now from last year so we have a better starting point and with the new rules I don't think we will now be a million miles away. For me I want to have a consistent season and score top ten finishes and I think the team's hard work is invaluable in order to achieve this."

Le "feuilleton" Seeley est enfin fini, Il roulera encore pour le compte du Team TAS , mais aux cotés de Josh Brookes en Superbike.

Le Team yamaha Motorpoint dirigé par Rob McElnea , celui la même qui a fait rouler(entre autre) Loris Baz cette saison , ne sera pas sur la grille en 2012. Après avoir "essayer" 4 pilotes cette année , je comprends que cela soit difficile pour 2012.

McElnea :

"It has been a tough decision but the right one after a difficult season, where it was frustrating to be unable to secure a good return for our backers in terms of results. We all go to racing to be part of a show and I want to ensure our team performs not only for the fans, but also for our sponsors too. I felt the options available to us would mean another tough season with difficult challenges so, I feel it is the best decision to re-evaluate our position during our 2012 sabbatical and hopefully come up with a storming proposal for the future. Motorpoint have been great supporters and are understanding of my decision. I want to thank all my team and partners for their commitment over the last 20 years!"

Tommy Hill remet ça avec le team Swan la saison prochaine , et demi surprise , Hutchinson qui devait courir pour le compte du team sur les "road Races" a également été confirmé pour le deuxième guidon en BSB

Par contre Chris Walker annoncé sur l'une des 2 Kawasaki du team Pr1mo, s'est vu finalement préféré Joe Burns :

Dan Linfoot roulera sous les couleurs du team Hawk Racing BMW en 2012 aux cotés de Barry Burrell. Le team Hawk racing a remporté le titre BSB STK1000 cette année avec Richard Cooper.

Dan Linfoot :

"It is nice to go into the New Year knowing what I will be riding and when. I've always heard good things about Stuart's team and the squad is always very well turned out. It is the second year for them with the bike so that bodes very nicely for out-of-the-box performance. All of the bikes should be around equal in British Superbikes next season and to have one that makes around 190bhp out of the showroom is exciting. With the right amount of testing and some good data from last year, I am very hopeful of being competitive straightaway.
Last year wasn't brilliant for me, but it wasn't the worst either. I enjoyed my time with the SMT guys and I'm still on good terms with Robin (Croft, team owner). Running at the front of the Spanish Moto2 series was a big confidence boost but I wanted to come back to BSB. Unfinished business and all that."

Nous aurons peut être la chance de voir un français au départ du BSB cette saison , Freddy Foray s'envole cette semaine pour "envisager mes débuts en British Superbike".

Il ne m'en faut pas plus pour imaginer la suite , le Team MSS kawasaki va présenter ses pilotes le 2 Février, (c'est l'équipe dans laquelle Julien Da costa avait roulé), et le Team SRC n'a pas encore dévoilé son 3 eme pilote pour l'endurance. Appelez moi Mme Irma !!!
